| You can download a full-colour Portable Document Format
(PDF) version of the History Comes Alive brochure (in two parts), which
currently just includes the Canadian
characters found on this web site.
To view or print the brochure, you will need the (free) Adobe® Acrobat®
Reader, available for Macintosh, Windows, and other systems, at Abobes web site. If you don't
have this Reader installed, you can use the link provided below to download the application.
Step 1: To view PDF files in your Browser:
- Because the file sizes are quite large, you should not attempt this unless
you have a fast Internet connection (such as cable modem or ADSL). You may be more
successful if you save the files to your hard drive first (Step 2), then open them
after exiting your Internet Browser. (Besides, the information in the
brochure is already on this web site.)
- To continue, click on the PDF file you wish to open.
- If your computer is set up to automatically open PDF files in your browser,
you will be able to view the file after several seconds. If this process
takes longer than a minute, you should click STOP at the top of your browser
window and go to Step 2.
Step 2: To download/save PDF files to your hard drive:
- PC Users: Use your mouse to "right click" on the file you wish to obtain.
You should see a menu with a "Save Target As..." option. Choose this
option, and save the file to your computer. (Be sure to note the directory to which
you save all your downloads...you'll need to go there again to open them.)
- MAC Users: Hold down the clicker on your mouse until a list of menu options
appears.
- From this menu option, choose the "Save to..." option, and save the file to your
hard drive.
Step 3: To print PDF files you have opened in your Browser (by following Step 1):
- Click on the Abobe Screen's print icon (at the top of the main browser window)
to print out the entire file. DO NOT select the PRINT option from your Internet
browser, because this action may only print out one page of the file.
